Temperature sensor upstream of catalytic converter

 Warning

Risk of burn injuries, suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Remove/install

Remove engine cover.

 Installation: Only install engine cover after the leak test.

Remove top front noise insulation.

Unclip electrical connector (4) at bracket, release and disconnect.

Expose electric line (3).

Unscrew union nut from temperature sensor upstream of catalytic converter (B19/7).

 Installation: Coat thread of union nut of temperature sensor upstream of catalytic converter (B19/7) with heat-resistant lubricating paste.

Remove temperature sensor upstream of catalytic converter (B19/7) from catalytic converter (2).

Install in the reverse order.

Read out and delete fault memory.



Perform engine test run and check catalytic converter (2) for leaks.

Install engine cover.
