Remove/install

Remove engine air intake duct downstream of air filter.

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.

Remove charge air cooler.

Release leak oil line (1), detach from fuel injectors for cylinders 1 to 4 (Y76/1 to Y76/4), and capture escaping fuel with a rag.


Pull leak oil line (1) vertically upward to unlock.
Otherwise the leak oil line (1) will be damaged.

Seal openings on the leak oil line (1) and on the fuel injectors for cylinders 1 to 4 (Y76/1 to Y76/4) with suitable stop plugs.

Expose the leak oil line (1) at the brackets (arrow) and cylinder head cover.

Remove the mounting clamp (4).

Detach the leak oil line (1) from the return line (5) and catch escaping fuel with a rag.

Loosen the engine wiring harness near the leak oil line(1) and remove the leak oil line(1).

Check leak oil line (1) for damage.

If there is a problem:



Replace leak oil line (1).

Install in the reverse order.

Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper leak tightness and leak tightness.

Install upper engine cover.
