Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area.
Do not carry out any work on system when it is pressurized.

Remove/install

Remove charge air cooler.

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.

Remove noise insulation above leak oil line (1).

Remove cable duct on oil separator.

Release leak oil line (1) and disconnect from fuel injectors for cylinders 1 to 4 (Y76/1 to Y76/4).


Pull leak oil line (1) vertically upward to unlock.
Otherwise the leak oil line (1) will be damaged.

 Use rags to catch escaping fuel.

Seal openings on leak oil line (1) and fuel injectors for cylinders 1 to 4 (Y76/1 to Y76/4) with clean stop plugs.

Remove leak oil line (1) from cylinder head cover and holders (arrows).

Remove mounting clamp (4).

Detach leak oil line (1) from return line (5) and remove.

 Use rags to catch escaping fuel.

Check leak oil line (1) for damage.

If the leak oil line (1) is damaged,



Replace leak oil line (1).

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform an engine test run, and check engine for functionality and leaktightness.

Install upper engine cover.
