Reduce fuel pressure through service valve

 Danger

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contactwith fuel.

No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Unscrew cover (1) from service connection (2) of fuel distributor.

Insert end of  pressure hose (3) into container (4).

Screw union nut of the  elbow fitting (5) onto the diagnostic socket (2).

 To do this open service connection (2) and reduce fuel pressure in fuel distributor. Fuel leaks out at end of  pressure hose (3).

Unscrew union nut of  elbow fitting (5) from service connection (2).

Engine 277, 279
Screw protective cap (1) onto the diagnostic socket (2) of the fuel distributor and tighten.  .

 Replace sealing ring of the cap (1).

Engine 256.9
Screw protective cap (1) onto the diagnostic socket (2) of the fuel distributor and tighten.  .

 Replace sealing ring of the cap (1).
