Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area.
Do not carry out any work on system when it is pressurized.

Relieve fuel pressure at service connection.

Release and disconnect right connector coupling (R).

Unclip ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) from control unit brackets and place to one side with connected lines.

Remove right control unit bracket (1a).

Release and disconnect electrical connectors and remove feed duct from cylinder head cover.

Remove fuel lines from fuel distributor (25)

 Installation: Slightly tighten fuel lines by hand. Only tighten fuel lines to final tightening torque once fuel distributor (25) is firmly seated.

Clean area around fuel distributor (25).


Only use lint-free materials when working on high-pressure fuel circuit. Ensure scrupulous cleanliness.
Damage will occur otherwise on the high-pressure fuel circuit.

Assembly cleaner

Remove screws (2) and remove fuel distributor (25).


No fuel should flow over the engine.
Damage will occur otherwise.


Use lint-free rags only.
Damage will occur otherwise on the high-pressure fuel circuit.

 Wear oil-resistant, fiber-free gloves lined with rubber.

Remove bracket (25a) and pressure regulating valve (Y74) from fuel distributor (25).

When replacing fuel distributor (25).

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of burn injuries, suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.
