If a fuel line is opened, it must be completely replaced otherwise leakage can occur



Thoroughly clean area surrounding fuel line to be opened so that no dirt finds its way into the injection system since failure will occur otherwise

Remove air filter housing

Remove respective ignition coil

Disconnect purge line to upper separation point

When removing left rail (20)

Detach cable duct (6) from cylinder head cover



Thoroughly clean area surrounding line connections

Remove fuel line (pr) from rail (20)

Disconnect electrical connector (4) at rail pressure sensor (B4/6)

When removing right rail (20)

Disconnect electrical connectors (5) at fuel injectors (Y76)

Remove bolt (2)



Remove rail injector unit

Replace sealing ring (7) between rail (20) and cylinder head cover

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
