No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove/install

Remove charge air cooler.

Clean area of quantity control valve (Y94).

Release and disconnect the electrical connector (2).

Remove bolts (1).

 Bolt, quantity control valve to high-pressure pump

Remove quantity control valve (Y94) from high-pressure pump (3).


Pull quantity control valve (Y94) out of housing flange using turning movements and do not twist.
Non-observance will result in damage.

 Collect escaping fuel.

 Installation: Replace quantity control valve (Y94) and sealing rings. Lightly grease sealing rings.

Clean flanged bore and sealing surface on high-pressure pump (3).


Remove paint and dirt particles.
Non-observance will result in a malfunction.

Install in the reverse order.



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and check high-pressure pump (3) for leaks in area of quantity control valve (Y94).
