1 | Remove camshaft | ||
2 | Take out camshaft sprocket and insert timing chain locking gear (7) into timing chain (11) | Prevents the timing chain (11) jamming when rotated | |
3 | Position piston of the relevant cylinder to TDC | Use TDC detector | |
Remove retaining lock for crankshaft / starter ring gear for this step | |||
4 | Insert retaining lock for crankshaft/starter ring gear | ||
5 | Remove glow plugs | ||
6 | Connect cylinder leak tester | Pressurize compression chamber of the relevant cylinder to about 5 bar | |

7 | Pull out bucket tappet (1) with magnetic lifter | Only at the relevant cylinder | |

8 | Remove valve springs (4) and valve stem seals (5) | ||

9 | Repeat the procedure for the other cylinders as from step 4 | Remove lock, rotate crankshaft, install | |
