2 | Fit hold-down device (11) | The hold-down devices (11) assume function of camshaft bearings and relieve the load on camshaft brackets (12). | |

3 | Remove fan | ||
4 | Set piston of cylinder 1 to ignition TDC. | Installation: Check basic position of camshafts. | |
Check basic position of camshafts | |||
5 | Continue to turn crankshaft by 360° | Observe direction of engine rotation. | |
6 | Remove lower bolts (8) on left or right camshaft sprocket (10) | | |
7 | Continue to turn crankshaft until piston of cylinder 1 is again at ignition TDC | Observe direction of engine rotation. | |
8 | Fix timing chain in place using a cable tie | in order to prevent the timing chain falling into the crankcase. | |
9 | Loosen top bolts (9) | ||
10 | Remove chain tensioner | Mark timing chain relative to the left or right camshaft sprocket (10). | |
11 | Remove upper bolts (9) on left or right camshaft sprocket (10) | | |
12 | Disconnect left or right camshaft sprocket (10) from camshaft | ||
13 | Install in the reverse order |
