Place piston of cylinder 1 on 40° after top dead center

Engine
must not be rotated back.

 Crank engine at crankshaft in direction of rotation of engine until 40° marking on belt pulley/vibration damper is aligned with marking on timing case cover.
The grooves on the camshafts must point in the direction of the inner-V.

Remove cylinder shutoff valve (Y80, Y81)

 Installation:
When sliding the cylinder shutoff valve (Y80, Y81) onto the oil pipe (2), ensure
that the O-ring (3) is not damaged and is pressed out of the groove of the oil pipe (2).

Notes on installing camshaft bearing bridge

Tie the camshaft sprocket and timing chain with cable tie together
in order to prevent the timing chain from being skipped.

 Installation:

- Replace the O-ring (3) (moisten the new O-ring with oil).
- Blow out oil pipe (2) with compressed air.
If the oil holes (4) are clogged, clean them, and replace the oil pipe (2) if necessary.


Loose the screws in stages in reverse order
of the tightening procedure (see picture).
