Remove/install

Remove exhaust gas aftertreatment unit.

Remove screws (5) and remove cover (4).

 Installation: Replace seal (3).

 Housing cover for chain tensioner to crankcase/timing case cover

Remove the chain tensioner (1) and collect escaping engine oil using rags.

 Installation: Replace sealing ring (2).

Seal opening with suitable stop plug.

 Record plug

Check whether the chain tensioner (1) is fully extended and undamaged.

 Chain tensioner (1) is pretensioned by an internal spring and extends fully during removal.

If problems exist,



replace chain tensioner (1).

Install in the reverse order.
