Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.

Slacken tension on basic belt drive poly-V belt (3) and remove from belt pulley/vibration damper (4)

Remove belt pulley (5) on fan carrier flank (7)

Attach cranking device to the timing case and block flywheel with the cranking device

Remove screw/bolts (6) and remove fan carrier flank (7)

Only on vehicles with 1-belt drive or with 3-belt drive.

Loosen screw/bolts (8) and then remove a screw/bolt (8) on the left side of the belt pulley/vibration damper (4)

Screw drift (9) into threaded hole

Remove remaining screw/bolts (8) on the belt pulley/vibration damper (4)

Loosen belt pulley/vibration damper (4), turn on the drift (9) and detach from crankshaft flange

Remove slinger (10)

 Installation: The slinger (10) must be installed with the flat side towards belt pulley/vibration damper (4).

Check belt pulley/vibration damper (4) and all belt pulleys, tensioner pulleys and guide pulleys for driven component for damage and concentricity

If damage is present:



Replace component in question.
