Remove

Remove flywheel (1).

Insert thrust piece (3) into the flywheel (1) and detach race (2) from the flywheel (1) using the puller (4).

Remove the radial shaft sealing ring on the timing case.

Install

Heat the new race (2) up to a maximum temperature of 60 °C.



Race for the radial shaft sealing ring on flywheel altered

No temper colors may be visible on the race (2).
Otherwise, the race (2) must be replaced.

 Measure the temperature using a commercially available temperature measuring instrument.

Place the race (2) on the flywheel (1).

 The rounded edge of the race (2) must point to drift (5).

Reposition the race (2) on the flywheel (1) using the drift (5).

Install a new radial shaft sealing ring in the timing case.

 Install a radial shaft sealing ring that has a larger inside diameter.

Install flywheel (1).
