| Remove/install | ||
1 | Remove poly-V belt (3) | ||
2 | Install retaining lock for crankshaft/starter ring gear | ||
3 | Unscrew center bolt (2) | | |
4 | Detach vibration damper (1) from crankshaft (5) | Check contact surface of hub (arrow) for galling or damage; replace vibration damper (1) if necessary. | |
Installation: the installation position of the vibration damper (1) is dictated by a feather key in the crankshaft (5). | |||
5 | Replace front crankshaft radial seal (4) | when replacing the vibration damper (1) or in case of leaks on the crankshaft radial sealing ring (4). | |
6 | Install in the reverse order | ||

7 | Carry out engine test run and check engine for leaks in area of crankshaft radial sealing ring (4) | When replacing crankshaft radial sealing ring (4). |
