1 Lay crankshaft (1) with the outer main bearing journal on the crankshaft prisms (4).

Lubricate outer main bearing journal slightly with engine oil.

2 Attach dial indicator (3) to dial indicator holder (2).

3 Place dial indicator (3) with preload in the middle on middle main bearing fitted bearing journal.

4 Set scale of dial indicator (3) to "0".

5 Turn crankshaft (1) and observe pointer on the dial indicator (3).

The deflection of pointer on the dial indicator (3) shows deviation from concentricity of crankshaft (1) an. The crankshaft (1) must be replaced if the value lies outside the tolerance.
