1 Wet radial shaft sealing ring (1) on the inner sealing lip with engine oil.
Install radial shaft sealing ring (1) on the outer surface dry.
2 Push sleeve (2) for the insertion device over the flange (3) of the insertion device.
3 Push radial shaft sealing ring (1) with a large inside diameter over the sleeve (2).

4 Place flange (3) with the radial shaft sealing ring (1) on crankshaft flange (4) and tighten down using existing bolts (6) on the flywheel.
The bore (arrow) in the flange (3) must be placed over the dowel pin (7) on the crankshaft flange (4).
5 Push washer (8) with the marking "457" over the flange (3).

6 Push insertion sleeve (9) over the flange (3) and screw in nut (10).
Push in radial shaft sealing ring (1) using the insertion sleeve (9) up to a noticeable end stop in the timing case (5). The installation depth of the radial shaft sealing ring (1) is prescribed by the insertion device.
7 Remove complete insertion device.
8 Pull sleeve (2) out of the radial shaft sealing ring (1) while turning the sleeve (2).
9 Check inner sealing lip on radial shaft sealing ring (1) for damage by means of visual inspection.
10 Check spring in radial shaft sealing ring (1) for a correct installation position.
