Installing rear crankshaft radial sealing ring

Wet radial shaft sealing ring (1) on the inner sealing lip with engine oil.

 Install radial shaft sealing ring (1) dry on the outer surface.

Push radial shaft sealing ring (1) over the flange (2) for the  insertion device.

Push sleeve (5) for the  insertion device over the crankshaft flange (3).

Place flange (2) with the radial shaft sealing ring (1) over the sleeve (5) on the crankshaft flange (3) and tighten with the existing screws (6) of the flywheel or ring gear carrier.

 Place bore (arrow) in the flange (2) over the dowel pin (7) on the crankshaft flange (3).

Push pulling-in sleeve (8) over the flange (2) and screw in nut (9).

 Push in radial shaft sealing ring (1) using the pulling-in sleeve (8) up to a noticeable end stop in the timing case (4). The installation depth of the radial shaft sealing ring (1) is prescribed by the  insertion device.

Remove complete  insertion device.

Check inner sealing lip on radial shaft sealing ring (1) for damage by means of visual inspection.
