Remove oil filter element

Only in case of extreme wear or damage to the engine components.



Check disks of the oil filter element for metal abrasion and a swollen condition

Only in case of extreme wear or damage to the engine components.

If there is metal abrasion in the oil filter element or if this is swollen.



Replace oil filter element.



Remove the heat exchanger for engine oil and check for metal abrasion

Only if extreme metal abrasion was found in the oil filter element.

Replace heat exchanger.

Remove oil pump and check for metal abrasion

Only if extreme metal abrasion was found in the oil filter element.
