2	Check connecting rod bearing shell and connecting rod journal through visual inspection for wear and damage	 In case of wear or damage do not conduct any further steps but remove engine instead and repair it.

3	Check crankshaft bearing shell or fitted bearing shell and crankshaft bearing journal through visual inspection for wear and damage	 To do this remove main bearing cap and main fitted bearing cap individually, one after the other and possibly reinstall.
