Installing rear crankshaft radial sealing ring

Push radial shaft sealing ring (1) in direction of arrow (A) on the  guide piece (2) of the  insertion device.

 Sealing lip (3) on the radial shaft sealing ring (1) must point in the direction of arrow (A) over the whole circumference of the  guide piece (2). Place radial shaft sealing ring (1) again if this is not the case.

 Place guide piece (2) on crankshaft and attach using the two  screw/bolts (4).

Push radial shaft sealing ring (1) onto the  guide piece (2) up to the mounting hole on timing case cover (7).

 The radial shaft sealing ring (1) must lie flush on timing case cover (7).

 Place thrust piece (5) on the  guide piece (2) and screw on  nut (6).

 Align bores (arrows) of the  thrust piece (5) to the  screw/bolts (4).

 Screw on nut (6) until the  thrust piece (5) touches the timing case cover (7).

 When screwing on the  thrust piece (5) ensure that the radial shaft sealing ring (1) is pressed in evenly in the mounting hole for the timing case cover (7).

 Remove screw/bolts (4) alternately and remove the  insertion device.
