Remove/install

Remove flywheel/driven plate (1)

Clean

Clean crankcase (3) and oil pan (4) in area of the end cover (5)

Assembly cleaner

Remove screw/bolts (5a)

 Screw, rear end cover to crankcase/oil pan (belt side)

Release end cover (5) with radial shaft sealing ring (6) from crankcase (3)


Do not pound in any tool between the end cover (5) and crankcase (3) to pry them apart.
The sealing surfaces can get damaged otherwise.

 Fit tool for prying off onto side notch clearances of the end cover (5). Heat up sealant with a heat gun if necessary.

Remove end cover (5) with radial shaft sealing ring (6)

 Installation: The end cover (5) must be replaced after every disassembly operation.

The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.

Install in the reverse order

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
