Remove any sources of ignition.

Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated.
When working on vehicles at ambient temperatures over 60 °C, all gas cylinders must be removed.

Remove

Remove vibration damper.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1).

Check

3

Check flange on crankshaft (2) for galling of radial shaft sealing ring (1).

If galling is detected on the flange:



Replace crankshaft (2).

Install

Install a new radial shaft sealing ring (1).

Install vibration damper.

Start engine and allow it to run with alternating engine speeds.

 See information from body manufacturer.

Switch off engine and check around radial shaft sealing ring (1) for leak tightness.

 Visual inspection.
