Sleeve

1 Clean mounting bore and remove burrs, if necessary.

2 Inspect contact surface of radial seal on hub of vibration damper.

If a groove can be felt on the hub caused by wear, insert the new radial seal 3 mm further. Use sleeve 606 589 00 14 00 (repair position).

3 Lightly oil sealing lip of new radial seal (1) and mating surface.

Do not use grease!

4 Install new crankshaft radial seal (1) with sleeve (4).

The groove in the sleeve should be flush with the Woodruff key (arrows). The radial seal should be positioned at right angles to the crankshaft journal so that it provides a proper seal.
