Remove

Remove piston (5).

Clamp the piston (5) in the vise.

 Use protective jaws.

Remove piston ring (plain compression ring) (6c) with piston ring pliers.

Remove piston ring (taper-faced hook scraper ring) (6b) with piston ring pliers.

 Pliers

Manually remove piston ring (oil scraper ring) (6a).



Install

Install piston ring (oil scraper ring) (6a) by hand.

Install piston ring (taper-faced hook scraper ring) (6b) with piston ring pliers.

 Observe installation position of piston ring (taper-faced hook scraper ring) (6). The"Top" marking or manufacturer's designation must face towards the piston crown (5a).

Install piston ring (plain compression ring) (6c) with piston ring pliers.

 Observe installation position of piston ring (plain compression ring) (6c). The"Top" marking or manufacturer's designation must face towards the piston crown (5a).

Offset the piston ring end gaps of the piston ring (oil scraper ring) (6a), piston ring (taper-faced hook scraper ring) (6b) and piston ring (plain compression ring) (6c) each by 120° on the circumference of the piston (5).

Remove the piston (5) from the vise.

Install piston (5).
