Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing engine oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

Remove/install

Remove cylinder head cover.

Remove low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation cooler.

Detach vent hose (3) from the rear cover (1) and seal with a suitable stop plug.

 Record plug

Remove screws (2) from the rear cover (1) contrary to the numerical sequence of the tightening procedure and remove rear cover (1).

Tightening procedure

 Installation: Replace seal.

 Bolt, chain case cover to cylinder head

Clean

Clean sealing surfaces on the rear cover (1) and cylinder head with a lint-free cloth.


Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
Sealing surfaces will otherwise be damaged.

Install in the reverse order.
