Remove/install front cover on cylinder head

2 Bolt with washer M8

3 Bolt with washer M6

4 Fitting sleeve

5 Sealing ring

 The figure shows the front cover on engine 111.979 without camshaft adjuster. The location of components is also valid for the engine 111.984 with camshaft adjuster.

 	Remove/install
1	Remove cylinder head cover		AR01.20-D-5014C
2	Remove coolant thermostat housing		AR20.10-D-2710C
3	Disconnect connector on camshaft adjustment	Engine 111.984
4	Remove combination bolts (2 and 3) remove; remove cover on cylinder head (1)	 Note sealing ring (5); it can fall into the timing case.  Installation: Note fitted sleeves (4). Replace sealing ring (5), clean sealing surfaces and coat with sealant.

5	Install in the reverse order
6	Check for leaks
