Remove/install

Remove timing case cover.

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover and lower engine compartment lining after leak test.

Remove intake module.

Remove the high-pressure pump.

Unscrew screw (1) and remove filler neck.

When installing new intake cylinder head cover (4).

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.

 Bolt, filler neck to cylinder head cover

Unclip electrical wiring harness at retaining clip (2) from intake cylinder head cover (4).

Remove screws (3) in reverse order to tightening procedure.

 Installation: Observe tightening procedure.

Carefully release intake cylinder head cover (4) with a suitable tool from the cylinder head and remove.


Do not pound in a prying tool between exhaust cylinder head cover (7) and the cylinder head.
The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.

Remove sealing compound and clean sealing surfaces on intake cylinder head cover (4) and on the cylinder head.

Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.

Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.



Carry out engine test run and check function and leak tightness of the engine.

Install lower engine compartment lining.
