Secure vehicle on vehicle lift with support arms

 Danger

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove screw (2) and remove vehicle lift support points (1).

Insert vehicle lift safety devices (01) into longitudinal members.
  Vehicle lift safety device 171 589 01 31 00
  Vehicle lift safety device 169 589 02 31 00

 For removal of high-voltage battery, attach vehicle lift safety devices (01) 171 589 01 31 00 to front right and rear left then use vehicle lift safety devices (01) 169 589 02 31 00 at front left and rear right.
To remove other major assemblies, attach vehicle lift safety devices (01) 171 589 01 31 00 diagonally at front and rear.

Swivel levers (01a) of vehicle lift safety devices (01) to the right.

 The vehicle lift safety devices (01) are then locked onto the longitudinal members.

Adjust support plates (5) of vehicle lift swivel arms (4) until level with vehicle lift safety devices (01) or level with remaining vehicle lift support points (1).

 Turn support plates (5) until they make contact with the vehicle lift safety devices (01) or they are level with the vehicle lift support points (1) of the longitudinal members.

Lift vehicle with lifting platform.

Secure vehicle lift safety devices (01) to vehicle lift swivel arms (4) using tensioning strap.

 When lashing down, note any sharp-edged objects.
Otherwise, the tensioning strap will be damaged.

Remove in the reverse order.
