Park the vehicle in the shade with the windows open

Remove air filter

Danger!

Risk of accident due to the vehicle starting off of its own accord when the engine is running. Risk of injury from crushing and burns when intervening during the starting procedure or on the running engine

Secure the vehicle to prevent it from starting off of its own accord.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grip hot or rotating parts.

Start vehicle engine and allow to run at idle

Check refrigerant compressor

Press air conditioning switch (3) and adjust max. cooling capacity on temperature control switch (1) as well as on the

passenger compartment temperature control switch (4)

Check magnetic clutch on refrigerant compressor

When the engine is running and the air conditioning is switched on, the magnetic clutch on the refrigerant compressor must rotate at the same time.

Check condenser fan

Check condenser fan in the engine compartment

Except roof air conditioning, Sütrak AC 111

The condenser fan must rotate when the air conditioning is switched on.

Danger!

Risk of death from falling off the vehicle roof. Risk of injury to other persons due to objects falling down when working in the roof area

Check condenser fan on the vehicle roof

The condenser fans must rotate when the air conditioning is switched on.

Check condenser fan on the underfloor condenser

Rear air conditioning SC3-11 with underfloor condenser:

The condenser fan must rotate when the air conditioning is switched on.

Check refrigerant level

Adjust blower regulator (2) and passenger compartment blower switch (5) on position "2"

Check refrigerant level in the inspection glass

If bubbles can be seen in the inspection glass:

Check air conditioning circuit for leaks

- subject to a separate repair order.

If necessary:

Check air conditioning circuit for leaks

Check passenger compartment cooling capacity

Adjust blower regulator (2) and passenger compartment blower switch (5) to position "1"

Measure temperature at one of the air outlet openings (6) in the center of the vehicle center

After about 5 minutes the temperature of the escaping air must be 7 to 10 °C below the temperature of the air drawn in.
If the correct air outlet temperature is not reached:

Check air temperature sensor

Check low pressure switch

Check high pressure switch

- subject to a separate repair order.

Measure the temperature at the respective air outlet opening (6) on the right and left side of the vehicle and compare

In the event of deviating air outlet temperatures:

Check evaporator fan

- subject to separate repair order.
