1 | Open engine compartment flap | Installation: Do not close engine compartment flap yet. | |
2 | Shut off fuel feed | To do this, close the shutoff valve if fitted. If no shutoff valve is fitted ensure that no fuel dribbles out. | |
3 | Drain fuel at the drain screw (1) | Use a suitable receptacle. Dispose of the fuel collected in an environmentally friendly manner. | |
4 | Disconnect electrical connector (4) | Only carry out on version with electrical connector (4) on water separator (2). | |
5 | Detach the water separator (2) | Installation: Clean the inside of the water separator (2), replace if damaged. | |
6 | Detach filter element (3) | Installation: Oil the gasket, tighten the filter element (3) by hand. | |

8 | Bleed fuel system | ||

9 | Start engine and inspect fuel system for leaks | If the engine does not start after 30 s, repeat the starting procedure after 1 min. | |
10 | Turn off engine | ||
11 | Close engine compartment flap |
