Determine rear axle load of vehicle in ready-to-drive condition by weighing

Note down test values specified on ALB plate (1)

 The ALB plate (1) is located on the inside of the left door.

Check that control linkage (10) and operating lever (11) can move easily and that joints are play-free

Check length of control linkage (10) and operating lever (11)

 If the lengths differ from those specified, adjust the length of the control linkage (10) and operating lever (11); for details, refer to the ALB plate (1).

Connect pressure gauge test connections (2, 3)

6.1

Connect pressure gauge to test connections (4, 5, 6)

Model 405.050/100/101/120/121

 The test connections (4, 5, 6) on model 405.100/120 are located in the brake component compartment. On model 405.050/101/121 they are next to the battery box.

6.2

Connect pressure gauge to test connections (7, 8, 9)

Model 405.102/122 up to VIN end no. 197879

 The test connections (8, 9) are located in the front left and right wheel well.

Pressurize compressed-air system up to cutoff pressure

 Before fully depressing the brake pedal each time, the compressed-air system must be filled until the shutoff pressure is reached.

Fully depress brake pedal

 The pressure gauge of the controlled circuit must come to a standstill within the specified pressure range.

Permissible values are given in the ALB setting diagram on the ALB plate (1). A deviation of  0.4 bar is permissible. If the pressure deviates significantly, adjust the ALB controller (subject to separate repair order): 
