1 | Switch off engine. | ||
2 | Depress brake pedal. | A slight resistance must be felt after about 1/3 of the entire pedal travel. | |
3 | Actuate brake pedal several times. | Repeat process until no further servo assistance exists and there is no further indication of air flowing out. | |
4 | Hold brake pedal depressed and start engine. | ||
5 | Inspect operation of vacuum assistance. | If an increasing drop in pressure is felt at the brake pedal which is followed by a pressure resistance, the system is operating properly. | |
6 | Apply hand brake. | Adequate braking effect must exist after about 6 detents. |
