1 | Move universal joints backwards and forwards in both directions | Move universal joints backwards and forwards in both directions of cross-piece and in direction of rotation of propeller shaft. | |
The universal joint bearings must not be worn. Slight play is permissible. If necessary, repair universal joints or fit new propeller shaft. | |||
2 | Move universal joint backwards and forwards | Push propeller shaft upwards several times at sliding piece and move backwards and forwards in direction of rotation. | |
The sliding joint must not be worn. Slight play is permissible. If necessary, repair sliding piece or fit new propeller shaft. | |||
3 | Check to ensure that seals on universal joint bearings and sliding piece are not damaged and are in good condition | If seals are damaged, repair propeller shaft or fit new propeller shaft. |
