Disabling and enabling remote control keys, IMM

The control modules for the remote control and the engine are permanently assigned to each other. For this reason the electronic number segment of the locking mechanism must remain with the vehicle for the entire vehicle life cycle. Accordingly, only the mechanical locking number component is permitted to changed.

In the event of transmitter key loss this means:

Electronic locking number segment remains the same disable transmitter key by desynchronizing/ synchronizing. Disable transponder with HHT.

Change mechanical locking number segment install mechanic locking mechanism with new mechanical locking number all around. Distinct assignment of the new mechanical locking number to the vehicle must be guaranteed (Documentation).

Engine control module must be replaced succeeding any installation of a locking mechanism operating with an altered mechanical locking number.

In the event of a defect in the DAS control module this means:

Electronic locking number segment remains the same install new control module with identical locking number (specify locking number in your order).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the event of a defect in the mechanic locking component this means:

The complete locking number sequence remains the same. replace locking component carrying over the locking number.

Desynchronization

In the event of transmitter key loss the control module must be desynchronized, the transponder disabled, and the mechanical locking mechanism replaced. A lost transmitter key can be rendered ineffective for the vehicle by the procedure described below. Keys never been used before (particularly those not yet released to the market) are not affected.

Desynchronization for this system is not performed with the HHT. This requires, though, to disable the transponder inside the key with the HHT.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Transmitter key desynchronization/ synchronization:

1) To initiate desynchronization/ synchronization the ignition is turned twice on and off again within 6 sec.

2) After ignition OFF activate a cleared transmitter key within 3 sec.

3) Activate the same transmitter key another three times within 6 sec.

4) Wait 10 sec. Resynchronization is now possible with 10 seconds elapsed.

5) Activate all transmitter keys cleared for the vehicle at least once.

It is essential to adhere to the times and operations stated.

If no transmitter key is activated in phase 5 the procedure is rendered invalid failing to either disable or to clear any transmitter keys.

A disabled transmitter key can be cleared again by the same procedure by activating it in phase 5.

Activating transmitter key means: Fold the key in or out (RF - telegram is sent).

1) Turn ignition (circuit 15) on and off twice
