Disabling and enabling remote control keys, IMM

Disabling and enabling keys

In the following cases, it is necessary to learn in transponder keys in the IMM control module:

when an additional key is required,

when the IMM control module has been replaced,

when a key has been lost and it is to be disabled.

Note

Transponder keys can only be learned in with the HHT in combination with persons authorized to learn in FDOK keys.

When ordering new keys, observe the regulations for handling orders for theft relevant parts.Orders affecting the immobilizer cannot be accepted if the customer is not the vehicle owner or does not have an authorization from the owner. In all cases, document the proof in the workshop order.

Procedure

Connect HHT, switch on ignition and select menu IMM "Learning in key".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of two learning in versions can be selected:

1. Learning in replacement key

Here a new key can be enabled whereby all previously valid keys maintain their validity or, if the IMM control module has been replaced and the keys present for this vehicle are to be learned in again in the control module.

2. Erase all keys and learn in one after another

Here, all keys previously stored as valid can be erased and the keys still present can be learned in again one after another.

Select menu point 1 if a new key is to be learned in.

Switch off ignition, insert the new key to be learned in into the steering wheel lock and switch on ignition. The status of the transponder code is then read in by the IMM control module and checked.

The HHT then requests the required data from the control module, which appears under the title "FDOK entry" .

This data must be entered into the corresponding FDOK display by the HHT.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FDOK entry

Select display 1801 "Learn in immobilizer key" in the main FDOK menu and enter the vehicle identification number.

Enter the following data under the title "Enter HHT information".

1. HHT random number

2. ID code

3. Calculation mode

4. Number of valid keys

5. Tranponder code

In addition, it is necessary to enter the shop number of the workshop requesting the data for the immobilizer for documentation purposes.

After acknowledgment of the data, calculation of the coded random number is started.

The coded random number calculated by FDOK appears under the title "Enter on HHT". Transfer this number to the HHT.

HHT entry

Switch to next display on HHT with the Continue key and press the Continue key again to enter the coded random number. If the coded random number is recognized as correct, the transponder code of the key momentarily in the ignition lock is stored as valid in the control module.

Note

Before it is possible to learn in another key, it is necessary to wait for the learn-in procedure for the previous key to be concluded (approx. 2 minutes).

During this time, it is not possible to read in a new transponder code.If the next key is learned in too quickly, the HHT indicates "Key already learned in".

Do not attempt to start the engine while learning in the key. During this phase, the engine starts even with a key which has not yet been learned in. However, after switching off the ignition, the engine can no longer be started with this key.
