A stage 2 or stage 2b drive authorization system (DAS) can be fitted as special equipment on model 638 vehicles. DAS is used to prevent the engine being started by unauthorized persons.
After the drive authorization system is activated the PEC control module renders the ignition and injection system inoperative.
Engine starting is enabled or blocked via a PWM signal from the DAS control module to the PEC control module.
When replacing PEC control modules on an experimental basis, it is to be ensured that only control modules with integrated immobilizer are fitted.
