The control module has a DTC memory. The recognition of faults and their storage is differentiated as follows:
Faults which are current
Faults which were present over a particular period (for more than 3 seconds)
Loose contact faults which occurred 5 times on a journey
The DTC memory is erased on the vehicle side when the supply voltage is disconnected, such as disconnecting the battery or disconnecting the control module coupling "1".
Faults which no longer occur are automatically erased after a max. of 19 journeys. A journey is completed when:
Vehicle speed > 10 km/h,
Engine speed > 700 rpm,
Engine switched off for 3 minutes
The stored faults can be read out at the diagnostic socket when the ignition is "ON" or "the engine is running".
