Input:
005 Request for PTO 2 (MSF)
Only models 930, 932, 933, 934
The request for power take-off 2 is transferred from CAN switch "Power take-off 2" to the modular switch panel (MSF) by the ContAct overall networking principle , from where it is sent to the PSM control unit via the vehicle CAN (CAN 1).
010 Request for PTO 2 (pin X3 15/5)
The PSM control unit receives the signal PTO 2 requested at input pin X3 15/5 via the PTO 2 request switch
.
Limp-home
The input pin X3 15/5 cannot be monitored; the information at the input is made available without checking.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
020 Request for PTO 2 via body electronics (AUF)
PTO 2 can also be requested via the body electronics.
Limp-home
The input is regarded as not actuated.
030 Request for PTO 2 via trailer electronics (ANH)
PTO 2 can also be requested via the trailer electronics.
Limp-home
The input is regarded as not actuated.
040 Last engagement condition to be fulfilled (input condition)
Applies for parameters 010, 020 and 030.
The parameterization can determine whether the PTO 2 request is to occur as a last event or whether no particular input condition sequence is specified.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
050 Neutral position
Via the vehicle CAN bus, the PSM control unit receives the signal regarding the transmission neutral position.
If the signal from the vehicle CAN bus is not available, the PTO display flashes and the power take-off cannot be engaged. Via further actuation of the Request for PTO 2 switch, this safety check is skipped, and the PTO is engaged.
060 Parking brake
Over the vehicle CAN bus the PSM control unit receives the signal 'Parking brake actuated'. If the parking brake has not been applied, the "Apply parking brake" symbol appears on the matrix display for heavy models. If the signal from the vehicle CAN bus is not available, the PTO display flashes and the power take-off cannot be engaged. Via further actuation of the Request for PTO 2 switch, this safety check is skipped, and the PTO is engaged.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

150 FCAN event
A vehicle CAN event may be selected as an additional input condition for engaging the PTO.
The result of the FCAN event can be reversed (inverted) and its threshold adjusted (Parameters 160...180).
190 Feedback in the case of PTO 2 (pin X3 15/8)
Via the input pin X3 15/8, the PSM control unit receives the information that PTO 2 is engaged.
If the PTO 2 solenoid valve is initialized, and no feedback is received within 5 s:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 With the clutch open
- the initialization of the solenoid valve is withdrawn for 1 s
- the solenoid valve is initialized again.
If feedback is still not received after another 5 s,
- a fault code is set,
- the PTO 2 feedback is regarded as active and
- the PTO general lamp is activated.
2 If the clutch is closed or a clutch signal absent
If feedback is still not received after another 6 s,
- a fault code is set,
- the PTO 2 feedback is regarded as active and
- the PTO general lamp is activated.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Output:
500 Initialization of the solenoid valve for PTO 2
If the input conditions have been fulfilled, the outputs are initialized.
The solenoid valve Y47 is actuated via the output pin X4 18/17; the solenoid valve energizes and engages power take-off 2. The power takeoff remains engaged until it is switched off with the PTO 2 switch or by turning the ignition off.
Via output pin X4 18/11 clutch pedal lock-out and
pin X4 18/12 clutch initialization (with HPS) or via vehicle CAN bus clutch initialization (in vehicles with EAS) in order to engage the PTO. On actuation of the PTO request switch, the output pin X4 18/11 clutch pedal lock-out and pin X4 18/12 clutch initialization is initialized by the PSM control unit, or a clutch request is transmitted to the clutch control system via the vehicle CAN bus.
After the PTO has been engaged and confirmed, output pin X4 18/11 clutch pedal lock-out and
pin X4 18/12 clutch initialization are no longer initialized, or the clutch request to the clutch control system is withdrawn.
The working speed is requested via the vehicle CAN bus.
If parameterized, the
- splitter group,
- gear lock-out,
- engine brake lock-out,
- Min./max. speed limit,
- torque limitation and the
- speed limit
are output via the vehicle CAN bus.
When switching off the PTO the output
Pin X4 18/11 clutch pedal lock-out and pin X4 18/12 clutch actuation initialized or the clutch request is output via the vehicle CAN bus until the NA 2 feedback signal is no longer present (max. 4 sec.)
Only models 375.3/4, 930, 932, 933, 934, 950, 952, 953, 954, 957
Prior to the initialization of the solenoid valve for PTO 2 the following procedure occurs:
510, 520 Transmission input speed threshold
The transmission input speed is observed via vehicle CAN. If this falls below the threshold value, the solenoid valve for PTO 2 is initialized.
A time window is simultaneously started:
530 Waiting time following clutch opening
Regardless of the transmission input speed, on the expiry of the parameterized time at the very latest, the clutch is regarded as open, and the solenoid valve for PTO 2 is initialized. This ensures that, even in the case of a poorly separating clutch, the engagement of the PTO is achieved within an acceptable time.

Only models 375.1, 970, 972, 974, 975, 976
As no information regarding the transmission input speed is available here, initialization is carried out as follows:
540 Wait until clutch opens
The PSM control unit receives information regarding whether the clutch is open over the vehicle CAN bus.
If the input conditions have been fulfilled andthe clutch opened, the solenoid valve for PTO 2 (pin X4 18/17) is initialized.
Emergency running
If the 'Clutch open' signal is not available, the clutch is regarded to be open after 5 s.

Initialization of the solenoid valve for PTO 2 (pin X4 18/17)
Output
Wait until clutch opens
AND
The speed and torque limits for the PTO's that are used must be adhered to, since the major assemblies will otherwise be destroyed.
550, 560 Min. speed limit in the case of PTO 2
570, 580 Max. speed limit in the case of PTO 2
590, 600 Torque limitation in the case of PTO 2
These settings make it possible to delimit an operating range, in which the function is still guaranteed and the PTO is protected against overload.
610, 620 Speed limit in the case of PTO 2
This parameter enables speed limit
when PTO 2 is engaged.
630 Activation of the output (pin X4 18/13)
This parameter enables the connection of any function with the engagement of PTO 2 via relays (e.g. shutoff of auxiliary heaters, compulsory lowering of the air suspension, etc.)
Relay output max. 0.7 A.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
