GLC in Germersheim will only supply seats in the new generation in future.
When seats in the previous generation are being replaced with those in the new generation, the following must be observed:
Modify electrical circuit for heated seats
When replacing a Grammer suspension seat (code SH1/SH2) up to approx. vehicle ident. end no. 516600 or an Isringhausen fixed seat with seat heating (code SG6/SG7); the electrical cabling for the seat heating switch must be modified in the instrument panel.
- The switch for the heated seats is integrated in the seat in the new seats.
Replace seat belt
- When an Isringhausen fixed seat is replaced, the seat belt must also be replaced.
Erase control module for "SIL or SIR" seat electronics from list of control modules in instrument panel (INS)
- The standard suspension seats made by Isringhausen (not luxury suspension seats) do not have any electronics and therefore have no diagnostic capability.
- "System SIL" or "SIR" must be erased in the instrument panel (INS) when these seats are replaced. This prevents bogus faults.
