Service Information: Malfunctions due to retrofitting non-approved stationary heaters

As part of our product monitoring we have found that the retrofitting of a stationary heater on model 204.9 with engine 651 can lead to malfunctions which occur sporadically. Such type of retrofitting is never approved by Daimler AG.

On model 204.9 with engine 651 we urgently warn against fitting stationary heaters from the Webasto company with
Webasto order number 1315531A

In addition please note that the warranty liability obligations and material defect liability obligations expire with the installation of non-approved accessories to such an extent that malfunctions or damage to the vehicle were caused by the installation of non-approved accessories.

In such type of cases the repair costs must be invoiced to the customer and must not be invoiced to Daimler AG via Warranty or Goodwill.
