Notes on changes
In area of carbon brushes blower motor is covered with a protective ring and the housing is provided with a water drain hole.
Protective ring is installed as of VIN 427 102 1W 184 558.
When repairing or replacing a blower motor, after production breakpoint, protective ring can be re-used as long as it is not damaged.
On vehicles before production breakpoint a new blower motor is to be installed only with protective ring. In addition, a hole of 4 mm diameter is to be produced at lowest point of housing (below connection plug).
The protective ring can be obtained through normal ordering procedure.
Retro-fit is at the customer's own expense.
