Contents updated

 The following vehicles have been installed at the factory with improved interior protection (IRS) sensors:

Model 209.4 as of T-042410 (September 2004)

and as of F-144475 (October 2004)

Model 230 as of F-101504 (January 2005)

There are now improved replacement part sensors available from GLC Germersheim for those vehicles (model 209.4 up to T-042409 or F-144474 or model 230 up to F-101503) manufactured before the new improved sensors were being installed in the series production.

 There may be other components that have to be replaced because the operation of the interior protection system depends on the IRS sensors installed, the lid of the front armrest and either the rear stowage tray or rear bass box. To ensure the proper operation of the system it is therefore necessary to proceed according to the following table:
