Modification notes
The following information provides an overview of the central locking system radio remote control functions that have been modified since its market launch.
Vehicles up to 31.08.2002 (all model years up to and including 2002):
- Pressing the "Open" button once unlocks the
driver door AND the filler cap.
- Pressing the "Open" button twice unlocks all the doors, the tailgate and the filler cap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vehicles as of 01.09.2002 (model years 2003 and 2004):
"Global" unlocking using the transmitter key has also been possible since 01.09.2002.
If "Global" has been set, pressing the "Open" button once unlocks all the doors, the tailgate and the filler cap.
If "Selective" has been set, pressing the unlock button once only unlocks the driver door and the filler cap. The other doors and the tailgate are not unlocked until the unlock button has been pressed a second time.
The "Global" or "Selective" function is coded in the All Activity module (N10). This setting cannot be modified by the customer and has to be coded using STAR DIAGNOSIS.
Manufacturer default setting:
USA vehicles are set to "Selective".
All other vehicles (except USA) are set to "Global".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vehicles as of 01.09.2003 (model year 2004):
If the vehicle is not locked and only the tailgate is opened:
When the lock button is pressed, the tailgate lock is also locked. This means that the entire vehicle is locked when the tailgate is closed. The lock button therefore does not need to be pressed a second time.
This function can be coded to its original status using STAR DIAGNOSIS.
