Modification notes

When replacing the "old" trunk control control unit (HDS) by the "new" control units or when programming the trunk control control unit to the current software release the following is to be observed:
- "Old" control units: A 221 870 72 85 and A 221 870 78 86
- "New" control units: A 221 870 61 85 or current control unit
- "Old" software releases: 05/04 and 05/27
- "New" software releases: 05/24 or current release
The above procedure should only be used in the case of complaint. If the trunk control is operative, the trunk control control unit must not be replaced.
Control control units with software release 05/04 can only be updated to the software release 05/27. Repinning must not be carried out in this case.
New pinning:
Remove the fuse of slot 147 (Bordeaux red) on the rear SAM control unit. Unpin the plug contact from the Bordeaux red housing, pin into the pink housing (A 211 545 11 01) and install on slot 151. Mount the fuse on slot 151.
Update the fuse assignment sheet by hand.
