Improper handling may result in the STAR Diagnosis cable coming loose from the adapter.
There are two ways to remedy this problem:
In-shop repair (under certain conditions)
Send to the Heinkel company for repair

1 | In-shop repair: | ||
Loosen union nut (1) from strain relief (2) | Be sure not to twist the strain relief (2) from the adapter (3) (fig. 1). | ||
2 | Loosen strain relief claws (2a) without pulling the cable (4) out of the strain relief (2) (fig. 2) | ||
3 | Unscrew and detach the adapter (3), together with the strain relief (2), from the plug housing (5) | Ensure that the cable (4) does not rotate with the other parts (fig. 3). | |
4 | Check each lead for damage | If a cable displays damage beyond simply having a loose adapter, it will need to be repaired and tested by the Heinkel company. Such damage may include lead(s) detached from contact(s) or overstretched. Test OK | |
5 | Degrease adapter and plug threads using Loctite-Activator 240, then bond with Loctite 243 adhesive or a similar product. | Follow the instructions of the adhesive manufacturer. | |
6 | Assemble in the reverse sequence | ||
| Cables with 19-pin plugs should never be repaired by the user.
