On the ACTROS, models 930-934 a series of new functionalities have been integrated into the base module (A7).
The major ones are:
1. Function pins of base module (see pages 2-5)
The three function pins of the base module on the connector
X12 21/15
X12 21/18
X12 21/21
in combination with the
- standing lamp, circuit 58
- freely selectable vehicle speeds and with
- logical links from the vehicle data (CAN data)
can be actuated as per customer request (parameterized).
Currently the following vehicles or system statuses are available in the form of CAN data for activation of the function pins:
- Retrofit switch 1 to 5
CAN-capable retrofit switch
- Illumination
High beam, low beam, standing lamp, rear fog lamp, front fog lamp, backup lamp, work lamp, left turn signal indicator, right turn signal indicator, hazard warning flasher, horn
- PTO data
Request and feedback of PTOs 1 and 3, working speed
- General vehicle data
Parking brake, active service brake, "zero" speedometer signal, idle throttle, kick down, engine running, alternator OK, gear information, speed, motor speed, clutch actual value, oil and coolant temperature
2. PTO actuation (see pages 6-8)
Control of a transmission-mounted or a live power take-off as well as the specification of fixed speeds without the use of a parameterizable special module (PSM) is possible.
3. Provision of signals and potentials (see pages 9-10)
At the X7 connector the following signals and potentials are also available:
Kl.W
Term. D+
Vehicle speed signal (V-signal)
Circuits 30, 31 and 15
The limits stated in the body/equipment mounting directives must be observed.
The corresponding parameters are summarized in the base module under
- control unit adaptations
- 03 parameters for the body manufacturer
- 410 assignment of FCAN event on shift output
Function pins: position lamps
When the position lamps are activated, each output on the X12 plug connector is actuated, as soon as standing lamp, circuit 58 is switched on.
Additionally, each of the respective outputs is monitored for short circuits to ground or positive and for open circuits.

Function pins: Speed indication lamp
The speed indication lamp function enables each respective output on the X12 plug connector to be actuated depending on a freely selectable vehicle speed.
Simultaneously it is also possible to activate each of the outputs (OR link) using a retrofit switch.
Additionally, each of the respective outputs is monitored for short circuits to ground or positive and for open circuits.
The speed information is sent from the drive control (FR) via the vehicle CAN (CAN 1) to the base module.

Function pins: Linking of CAN events
This function activates the respective outputs depending on the selected (parameterized) CAN events.
The so-called input blocks consist of two selectable
CAN events. These can be adjusted in terms of their threshold value and hysteresis.
The two selected CAN events can be logically linked as an AND or OR function.
If the input conditions are given, the corresponding output is then activated.
Additionally, it is also possible to parameterize an input and an output delay each.

PTO actuation
This function enables a transmission-mounted PTO or a live power take-off to be controlled.
The parameterization mask appears to show that a Parameterizable Special Module (PSM) is installed.
To be able to use the function, knowledge on the fundamentals of logic links analogous to the Parameterizable Special Module (PSM) is necessary.
