Water can enter the module box due to an incorrectly sealed module box cover. Despite the difficult and tight installation position, be sure to proceed very carefully and conscientiously when securing the module box cover.
On the side facing the fender (picture 1), it can easily happen that the slide does not engage in the retaining lugs on the outside of the module box but instead is pushed along the inside of the module box. This can then wrongly appear as if the cover is correctly engaged.
If moved slightly, the cover will lift off the module box and later allow water to enter the module box. On the side not facing the fender (picture 2), it must also be checked whether the slide is correctly engaged in the retaining lugs. The cover will otherwise not be seated tightly on the module box.
| Install | ||
1 | Fit the cover. | Check whether it engages correctly all the way around the wall of the module box. Since the installation position is very tight, special care must be taken to ensure that the side facing the fender also engages correctly.
2 | Slide both locking slides in the CLOSE direction. | The slide is closed properly when it is at the correct position (symbols on the cover) and is felt to engage (picture 3).
3 | Check that the slides are locked properly. | When lifted, the cover must remain securely seated and should not move or come off the module box even if greater force is applied. |
