SI54.10-P-0013A | Service Information: Wax preservation on terminal block circuit 30 (X4/37) | 2.6.04 |
MODEL 163.154 /172 #A as of 145273,
163.136 /154 /172 #X as of 707755,

When working on terminal block circuit 30 X4/37, it is important to note the following:
Wax sealant is applied to terminal X4/37 during vehicle assembly. When the terminal nut or cables are removed, the wax sealant is broken. This subjects the power terminal to possible corrosion.
Corrosion buildup on terminal X4/37 can cause intermittent power connection, resulting in conditions of engine no-start, radio power interrupt, and malfunction indicator light flicker.
Therefore, wax sealant MUST be reapplied whenever the nut or cables are removed from terminal X4/37.
