Procedure when reinstalling the externally charged battery or when replacing the battery

1 Switch on ignition.

2 Teach in battery control unit.

 Activate the driving lamps, blower (MAX), heated rear window and hazard warning system for at least 2 minutes. Briefly placing this load on the battery will prevent a battery control unit malfunction.

 If during this process the indicator lamp for the heated rear window flashes: 

3 Cancel procedure, check battery with MDC 717 and charge if necessary.

4 Start vehicle

5 Carry out normalizing of power windows, sliding roof and steering angle sensor.

 If the vehicle, immediately after disconnecting/connecting the battery, moves without the engine/generator running, the support battery may be switched on.
In the process there may be a fault message
"Brake defective - stop" in the IC.
