The replacement of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) as part of the maintenance process or a repair can only be settled through the MB Reman Process as approved by Daimler AG. See also: WMW/EWMR WR 04-02-050 Use of replacement/reman parts or major assemblies as alternative to new parts.
This especially applies to vehicles with a service contract.
Diesel particulate filters that are cleaned at non-Daimler workshops or not through this approved process may not be used in the exchange cycle of the MB Reman Process. No refunds will be granted in this case.
All tested cleaning procedures for other companies do not achieve the full cleaning performance required to guarantee the defined maintenance intervals.
Warranty or goodwill in damage instance
As with all the components in the EATS, the DPF is subject to the legal warranty (Period: 12 months). If after this period any problems occur, then goodwill may be granted by Daimler AG as an option.
Preconditions
In the event of any damage instances after expiration of the warranty, good will can only be granted when:
The DPF was replaced as part of maintenance or repair at an MB workshop as per the MB reman process through a genuine MB reman part and sealed with the lead seal provided.
The DPF has never replaced.
